Bus Operators

Governments have bus operators as essential personnel

for a success of a metropolis.

They have to be clean in every aspect and physically fit to fill the purpose.

Before the metropolis awakes, bus operators are taking showers and their coffee pots are brewing.

Bus operators must have reliable transportation, for at the time they go to work there is none. If they are not early, they are late.

Before the city awakens, traffic is light. It presents a problem often when drivers under the influence

or others distracted by electronic devices travel the roads.

Everything starts at the dispatch window when an operator gets an assigned work.

A schedule, a pre-trip inspection sheet of a numbered bus. Safety first.

To deadhead to the exact location with ample time to be able to start at the designated time.

To reach on time to the designated transfer points.

There are many reasons to be late and none to ride early.

First customer gets a courteous greeting; a passenger in turn is placing his valuable life in the hands of the operator.

The same goes for the ones that follow. Alighting passengers with a friendly wish builds friendships along the way,

an operator will have to travel the same way when he returns.

The bus belongs to the county in many cases not to the passenger nor the operator.

A costumer does not pay the bus; the customer only pays for a safe service.

An operator is an ambassador for the owner of the bus and the immediate contact point for customers.

Our story:

On the operator’s eyes, passengers have no color, no sex and no creed.

They all deserve the same care and respect. All lives that enter the bus are put into the operator’s care.

The only unwanted lives are the roaches that inhabit public transportation when food, is left behind.

An operator sees many of the same faces in a week’s span and become a family

as they spend a great part of their given live in an important task. To get sustenance for their loved ones.

Transportation is a need not a luxury, everyone is responsible to provide each other a luxurious ride.

Some reasons why we ride busses are not having a driver’s license, not having a car, a disability, and age

or not having a chauffeur to name few.

There is a cash fare, disabled passes, senior passes, courtesy passes, transfers with their cash upgrade and other ways to pay.

All fares are honored with respect.

To evade a fair technically constitutes a reason for the police force to assist. An unwanted situation that does not often occur.

 Accidents, incidents, injuries and fatalities not often but they do occur.

Bus operator are welcome where many cannot go, they are the family of a population as a whole.

Grandparents, husbands, wives, women, men and children that travel become their extended family as they daily go.

Always on the run, breaks often none, a restroom a needed stop.

Fighting traffic coping with attitudes with empathy, hoping to get a bite and a little water to hydrate

and to try to be on time, safely every time.

Finally to get some rest to be able to take care of the rest.
